Allow any player to place Bounty on Virtually any Player (With Restrictions).
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
I propose to allow any player to place a bounty on another player with restrictions:

-level restrictions
-credit amount limitations to whole numbers so no identification can be done
-if it is a none jedi then it can only be 1 BH (maybe 2) that can grab same target-
-if the bounty was placed without a deathblow in GCW being the cause then no decay on death is applied
-Non Death Blow bounties can only be applied to the same player a certain number of times per week (you guys decide, maybe once a day or once a week)
(This will prevent non pvpers from suffering any hardships other than a 45 second fight in order for BH to attack and DB and the clone/walk back to where they were being a max of what, 5 mins away from somewhere? Call it time-gating like any other collection that is hard to find and even then this may even be decided to be once a day or once a week and EVEN THEN it is not like the same player will be receiving daily bounties unless they are jerks and hated by a lot of people and in that case well.. they may deserve it?)
Justification
PVP is a big part of this game and Bounty hunting is just as big. If we are to remain true to the lore then Bounty hunters should hunt others and not just Jedi or fighters. As stated above, if you don't like to pvp you can just take the death without any penalty except a bit of time lost and that is it).
Motivation
Love for PVP! Love for Bounty Hunter Profession! Love for Star Wars lore! Love for this server! It will surely make this server even more unique than it already is and in a very positive way!
any way to be able to put bounties on someone other than them deathblowing you?
would be nice and fun. i mean, no one would be safe but its not like in this game dying is game breaking so they should totally implement bounty capabilities for anyone/everyone if it doesnt already exist (this of course can be put with level restrictions to save ENTs, etc.)
 
Bounties should only be placed on criminals. Ordinary players, just doing ordinary things should not have a bounty placed on them.
 
If I wanted to play a pvp game, I would play a pvp game like Lineage II. Part of SWG is that pvp is opt in through some triggering action/choice, can't be forced on you.

That's fine too but a criminal can be someone putting a high price on something they know is a lot less and they robbing you that way

Also, someone who treats you like crap for no reason, and so on.

Let's say they implement it the way I said it and they do it to allow once a week bounty per player with no decay (non-db), unless you are a jerk to some or have done questionable things, you would not need to qorry not even once a week. And even then, common, 1 quick death ain't going to hurt ya. It will be like you got too close to that rancor that killed ya and that's it 🙄.

Ah, so because its very infrequent makes it ok? Aconite should just randomly delete all your credits every few weeks. Since its random its fine.... this is a stupid argument(both mine and yours).

LOL man! From a death without decay every few weeks compared to millions of credits? Sheesh calm down! :ROFLMAO: - Aight "stupid argument" if you say so. Will leave it to votes/devs, etc. :LOL:
 
The main issue is just it adds a barrier to all gameplay due to death effects.

Going to do a dwb/undead rancor/heroic/musty run? Better make sure to clear your bounty so you dont get dropped on the way and have to rebuff and delay the whole group.

Planning to tank some Marauder Themepark with your guild tonight? Better make sure your bounty is cleared so you don't get dropped midfight and make the whole group wipe and take the 30min rebuff drive back out to that backwater mob again.

PVPers knowingly engage in the system with these consequences. Making it so everyone, even those with 0 lifetime GCW kills, have to worry about being hunted whenever they are doing something and the time wastage that comes with a death is just not fun.

Then using this on jedi, and ghost timers.... instead of 10-30min delay you have now given that 0 vis jedi an 18hour+ delay.

Sounds just like the holocron hunt or the weed X hunt to me; time-gating as they call it. But you make a good point either way.
 
As someone who likes to PVP bounty I would not enjoy this and not sure the following would sit for many casual players:
if you don't like to pvp you can just take the death without any penalty except a bit of time lost and that is it

If you don't like PVP why would you play a game like this?

Because SWG has never been, except on custom servers, a full time PvP game. PvP has always been an "opt in/opt out" option.
SWG has the vast majority of content PvE, then every once in a while players "flag up" and do some PvP.
PvP is a peripheral, rather than essential part of SWG. The game can be easily played without ever doing it.

Look man people love this game after how many years because of what it is and if its not broke then why break it? most games have pvp or pve servers SWG has the best of both if you wanna flag yourself and pvp then go for it you can pvp all day everyday let us pve'ers do our thing.

Apparently, it ain't going to fly anyway because too many people like you who like to fight bosses and die or go out looking for loot and die from a creature but are terrified of the POSSIBILITY (though looking at what you wrote, I'm sure people would love to bounty a "nice" guy like you so I get your "fear") of being BHd ONCE A WEEK.

Sorry I think I typed it in a way where you thought I meant why would you play SWG if you didn't like PVP... I meant if you didn't like PVP why would you play this server should these changes come in to effect and you could get a bounty after you and just "take the death and get on with your day". I completely agree with what you said.

I play SWG in such a way that I do not have to PVP unless I choose to do so, which is exceedingly rare. Back on live you never had to PVP unless you chose to do so. If changes were made to this server which force me to PVP then I would simply either leave the server or not play SWG at all.

This is NOT true. I've been playing MMOs for 23 years near as I can remember. Players, other humans, can be downright despicable when they want to be. Many get vast amounts of enjoyment out of ruining other player's enjoyment. I've seen this behavior in many MMOs including SWG, WOW, Eve, and others. If one of these people has the power to put a bounty on another player, he/she will do it just for the laugh.

There is absolutely nothing fun about being victimized by these types of players. Believe me they exist in numbers.
