Proposal
Allow non combatant doctors to be able to buff combatant and SF
Justification
Make it easier for people to stay Special Forces without the faff of going on leave first and making it annoying and a chore.

Buffing is in public and not hidden behind closed doors meaning more roaming and out in the open.
Motivation
I want to stay SF but its annoying to stay buffed
Ive been trying to be SF most of the time and whats really annoying is having to go on leave to get buffed and then go SF again. Seems kinda pointless, what is it achieving that I dont understand?

I know you can have SF buffbots in safe houses but whats the point, what does it achieve in the grand scale of things. Removing hurdles and faff can only be a good thing.

I'm also not clear on why doctor buffs are restricted to on-leave players.

Because in the "eyes of the NPC," the doctor/entertainer is aiding and abetting a declared member of one of the warring factions.

It would appear to those watching the transaction that someone is "helping" the player in the fight against the Rebs/Imps.

But I "can" get an entertainer buff

Odd. I didn't realize that.

I got nothing then. I don't know why the tef would stop a doc and not an ent.
Game considers Doc as a combat profession not the entertainer. I would give this a thumbs up but has to be some controls. When a doc is going to be just a buff bot he/she toggles that action and is rooted in place and this blocks out all healing actions. (can buff all factions regardless of status while the doc is on leave) if he/she is moving then no buff allowed for SF unless the doc is SF. (this will prevent healing SF players while the Doc is on leave.)

I’m all for it as well, it allows people to stay SF. However all the degenerate tactics have to be thought about like the post above me mentioned you wouldn’t want a Doc to be able to heal or cleanse states / dots while on leave.

tentatively approved but I promised I wouldn’t approve things without the senate chiming in first so we’ll let them have their feelings and then I’ll approve it

I think people trying to make specific rules to prevent nonSF doc healing(stationary bot requirement etc) are overthinking it. Just make buffs work on anyone and heals work as they do now. They don't have to use the same rules.

While IDGAF about this in all reality. I think it removes the need for that guild SF doc. And does dimmish the class from a pvp perspective a little.

This wouldn't have the effect you think it would. Most heals and buffs in the game have logic about who the intended target is. If you're targeting an enemy, it assumes you want to actually target yourself. Now if you're trying to use use a buff in a combat situation, it may end up landing on your opponent when in most other situations it goes on you.

Anyway, yes we think that lifting this specific restriction on Doc buffs is possible and would help reduce the downtime that buffing up causes a lot of people. Approved.
