Allow Pet XP to be obtained from quests

Allow Pet XP to be obtained from quests
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
I propose to allow pets to gain xp from quest XP instead of just NPC kills.

When handing a quest into the quest giver, a called pet will recieve quest xp based off the amount of quest XP. Supplements can also increasse this, but given the already inflated multiplier on quest XP and as I do not know the calculations for supplemented XP vs base XP this will need to be calculated accordingly.
Justification
This will greating promote game immersion, to allow CHs to level their pets purely via questing and content and this will also discourage players from using static spawn area such as Janta and Kunga POIs to AFK level their pets.

Similarly to levelling other combat professions, this suggestion gives Creature Handlers the CHOICE to either quest via spin groups or solo content while levelling pets efficiently.
Motivation
This gives Creature Handlers an additional avenue to level their pets outside of killing NPCs.

Spin groups and AFK levelling are currently the only efficient ways to level pets. Whilst spin group are great for the economy and community, allowing to level pets outside of spin groups will greatly improve the CH profession experience. Allowing players to quest solo or with groups/guild and have their pet level at a efficient rate.
I propose to allow pets to gain xp from quest XP instead of just NPC kills. This will add immersion to the profession and give players and additional option to grinding via stips and will also assist in discouraging AFK pet grinding.

I love this idea. Getting only combat XP from the Legacy quests power leveled those, but I am stuggeling to level my all the skills need for pets. If just some of the XP from quests could go to those trees as an option it would be amazing.

I was in my first spin group yesterday, and my pet only gained 3 levels. Pets seem to level slowly to me. I love this idea, or they could gain XP based on the level of the mob in relation to their own level. This way, you can level them up on lower-level mobs.

Wow this is old zombie from the dead. Demon have you made sure to give your pet the proper supplement for xp boost plus make sure you are buffed for xp from ent and the resting bonus for xp. Between those 3 you can level up your pet rather quickly, especially in a spin group. (Edit - Also after your pet hits either level 70 or 75, I don't remember which, you need to switch to the higher level supplement).

To echo Tyr's post...

For context, my lvl 62 pet gained 5 levels on one mob during a spin using those steps outlined above.

Without the proper supplements, pet leveling FEELS like it takes forever.

For instance, my pet is gaining nearly 4500+xp per kill WITH the supplements. Without it, it is only about 950+xp. It takes about 2-4 kills for him to level when I solo. In a spin, he was leveling super fast.

I know of the Ent buff, but I am unfamiliar with the Rest buff and supplements. I still have a lot to learn, haha. I assume I find supplements from the bazaar. Resting; is that like logging out in a bed?

When you watch an Ent you get the buff from Inspiration. You ALSO get a rest buff that will also give "rested XP".

You can check on the duration of the Rested Buff by looking at the character sheet next to wounds. You'll see a number that can go as high as 1000. The higher the number, the longer the buff. You increase this number by watching the Ent till it is full. it is not the same as the Inspiration Buff.

The pet supplements are a pet-type specific 'drug' that can be given to the pet to boost their XP gain. Look here for more information:

I agree you should get some way to get CH xp, maybe not directly from the quest giver, This may be a lot of work messing with every NPC. Might be a better option to do what the village does for force sensitives, converting combat xp into CH xp at the creature handler animal skill trainer. This would be a win win because you could use your fully lvled pet and bank combat xp. and then convert it to CH pet xp with a new pet that needs to get leveled.

I see an awful lot of "Just do a spin group" replies to things. While I play during off-peak times due to location, I am beginning to question that as during the labor day weekend holiday it was hard to find any. I'm starting to think it might be server population and this is a "non-spike" time. While I fully agree that a pet is a weapon and if you pull one out turning in quest XP a portion should be given as CH XP, I cannot support this. Not while combat medics do not get medical XP doing combat things.

Well this is from Jan 2022 and things have changed since then. Really if you use supplements, ent buff (xp and resting) and spin groups when you can and even if you can't you can max level your pet quickly now. The slower thing is the loyalty level and they even added food to speed that up.
