- Proposal
- Allow "raid-style" grouping that would combine at least 2 groups (ideally up to 4 groups) for UI purposes ONLY. This means, everyone in the raid would have a separate grouping window on their UI for each group in the raid. They would be able to view the HAM and buff bars of every other member - as well as their distance from you. They would NOT be able to apply SL buffs or AOE heals to members of other groups within the raid.
Ideally, there would be one leader for the entire raid who would have a group editing mode where he can drag and drop players into different groups to achieve an optimal balance of DPS, heals, and support in each group.
.
- Justification
- This proposal will allow support and healer classes in particular to more easily provide single target assistance to raid members outside their group. A healer can more easily identify if the "odd-man-out" of the main group needs heals. Likewise, a SL can provide toughens and high yields outside of their group more easily.
From the leader's perspective, this will give him a much better sense of how the overall fight is going and whether he needs to fall back or if he can push in. His task of reorganizing groups as members join and leave the raid will also become much easier.
.
- Motivation
- It is difficult to organize activities involving more than 8 players. A PvP encounter of 9v9, for example, results in one person being outside the group and getting zero heals or buffs from the group. It is also very difficult for the group leader to keep track of where the "odd-man-out" is at and whether or not he is ready to engage. Furthermore, it is difficult for the leader to execute mid-combat maneuvers as he doesn't know where everyone is at and what their status is.
This proposal is to allow "raid-style" grouping.
