Proposal
To add a new GCW themed instance where players face off against swarms of enemy NPC.
Justification
New challenging PvE content for group play with a factional theme.
Motivation
The need to add more varied options to engage in the GCW, earn points, credits, loot and have fun.
How would it work?

This is a 60 minute instanced survival mode for a team of up to 8 players. You and your group will take on swarms of enemy NPC that attack in waves and progressively become more challenging. Similarly with city invasions, at around the 45 minute mark a high level gold elite NPC will spawn. You must survive long enough to kill the gold elite to successfully complete the instance.

Return to Kashyyyk

The Empire has sent a team of its crack troops to take on Wookiee freedom fighters that have been thwarting their operations. The battle will reach its conclusion with a fight against a Wookiee War Chief.

The Rebel variant will be to defend the tribe against encroaching Imperial forces and will reach its conclusion with a battle against a “named General” in their AT-AT.

Strategy

Throughout the survival mode there will be pauses in combat to allow for rebuffing or other tactical changes. These might include building turrets or calling in friendly NPC to support you during the next attack wave.

Rewards

Due to the high numbers of NPC players will have accumulated GCW points throughout and be awarded 1000 points if they successfully take down the Wookiee War Chief/Imperial General. Both will also have their own unique loot which can be used to support other GCW activities.

I like the concept, and great idea bringing Kashyyyk into use in the GCW. I would ramp up the difficulty & reward from what you've suggested, however. I think fighting waves of enemies just to fight 1 boss at the end after 45 minutes would get boring quite quickly. I would suggest waves of increasing difficulty, rewarding GCW after each wave rather than at the end.

Definitely agree with Banth on providing a reward after each wave. It incentivizes players to try and push as long as possible to get an ever increasing payout.

One thing that would also be nice to consider is different wave templates that are chosen when the first player enters the instance that aren't apparent until a few waves in.

While it might make some scenarios harder it would give a bit of planning to each group of players to have contingencies for the different potential spawns.

Spawn templates could be added or adjusted later to give more variety as well. (Not 100% if this is how it works but just a thought) I assume devs would have a tool similar to the storytellers being able to create a story template then activate it whenever they need.

Could have some waves provide different defensive objects be spawned as well depending on what template was chosen.

Would keep it interesting if that was an option. As you say, you would have to change tactics to accommodate.
