Proposal
The corpse has a timer of x seconds before the DB commits.

They have a "Give Up" option - Instant DB, They clone and take a cloning sickness which slightly reduced their effectiveness and it stacks on more clones. This enables you to keep fighting but limits the amount of times you can just keep doing it.

Justification
Make deaths matter a little more, When you drop someone from a team fight the window of advantage is small so numbers ultimately wins every time. Being able to team work and target key personal turns a fight but then they come right back and the advantage is lost and eventually everyone goes to the cloner. Bring in the medics and make them useful.
Motivation
make a battle a battle and not who can keep cloning and stay online the longest.
Due to the current death blow mechanic or "in a macro and instant DB" fights are just a clone and run back in constantly until someone is full.

If the death blow mechanic was changed we could enable healers to be more of a part with dragging, and revives etc.. This would use the characters abilities to lengthen the fight and come to a natural end of people dying rather than cloning over and over.

I have the same feeling: DB → clone → go back → continue fighting as if nothing happened.

I remember buffs disappearing on death was a thing on Live. When you died you had to rebuff and that meant you were out for a while.

Other games have timer on death. You die 1 time you have to wait 2min before cloning. Die again, now you have to wait 5min, etc.

Just throwing ideas.

Buffs from pvp deaths did not disappear. They did decay by some small %, if I recall correctly, but never disappeared.
