Droid Combat Module Overhaul

Proposal
I would like to see item decay/deterioration of all droid modules implemented. The complexity of droid combat modules on par with the craft of weapons in being able to select a combat level and being able to select base damage types. Droid modules should be interchangeable by the consumer for upgrading and replacement.

Combat Level of the droid should be determined by the combat module and not the armor module/defense rating.
Justification
This proposal would create a market for the DE in selling modules to consumers replacing broken parts or upgrading for a profession change or even just to try out a new module.

While it would create cash flow for Droid engineers and increase the cost to maintain a droid for consumers, it would decrease cost for purchasing new droid utilities and upgrading a droid for combat effectiveness.

I'm sure it's obvious that other professions like WS and Artisan could also benefit from this change as well.
Motivation
As the server ages and players become settled in their professions, the service of their local droid engineer becomes not needed.

Where all other crafting professions are always in demand due to item decay or options of consumable products (hello chef) Once you have the droid/droids with the modules you desire installed you no longer need a DE.
Droid Combat modules need some love even if it means buying parts from a WS

Reliable, Steadfast, and always pristine like the day you bought it, every time you call it from your data-pad!
Let us embrace the invulnerability of your droid!
I have an idea to increase the utility, value and customization of your forever in top condition (until you delete it) Droid!

Thanks for this suggestion, definitely some great ideas here. Droids are due to be nerfed soon so we can examine some of these changes to run in conjunction with that.
Would love to see droids get some if not all of these :D
Wounds - Inflicted during combat.
Decay - durability drain similar to weapons and armor on death of the droid until it turns into basically scrap.
Durability - Once a droid dies it should be disabled similar to a vehicle and require a restoration kit from DE to get back in action.

Mechanism quality on crafting should then influence a general broad stats of the individual parts.

This would bring back a reason for repair droids and add more dynamic to droid engineering as a whole and remove the infinite complete disregard to how you use a droid.
Could be a great way to increase the overall gameplay of yet another crafting profession.

I do think that the current determination of combat level works quite nicely forcing you to balance combat rating directly towards if you want armor and durability.
