- Proposal
- /dump reset the macro dump timer
- Justification
- It seems like a small change. First had the /dump command to the list of commands that do not start the macro timer.
It is not such a small change that it reset the timer to zero.
I don't know how this would affect other people, or if it could be use as a way of circumventing AFK macros that are maybe more disruptive than sampling, which I personal don't see as being disruptive. I realize in the past I have made suggestions (not this server) that in hindsight would not have been good, for any number of reasons.
So I'm not asking that I be able to do hand sampling without a timer. I understand the need for the timer. I'm suggesting that /dump reset the timer, if anything so it does not interfere with macros I might start later that have nothing to do with sampling. Sampling was just an example.
If "No" is the answer. Such is life.
- Motivation
- Situation. One uses a survey macro to track down high resource concentration. The timer kicks off. Finding the highest concentration can while. The timer is still counting down.
One uses a basic Inspiration to boost hand sampling. If one does this without the survey part, it would also start the timer. I have a simple /tar self;/inspire macro as a quality of life/play enhancement.
One then starts sampling, using a defaultButton macro to skip past the Survey Event prompt. I use to have a quality of life/play macro that started the defaultButton macro before the /sample.
Regardless, if I have been surveying, I will not be able count on having having 40 to 50 minutes before I have to restart the defaultButton macro.
When I learned that macros were going to have an expiration timer before being dumped, I grumbled a bit. I used a macro for automatically getting past the Survey Event prompt when sampling.
I would like to request the /dump command reset the dump timer.
