- Proposal
- Combat characters have a combat log that details their skills as they are used, amount of damage/healing given or received, what weapon or method was used and so forth. I propose something similar for Entertainers. Let our flourish messages be a part of this Entertainer's Combat Log so that it can be turned off and we can better see our customer's requests. Also, give us the ability to suppress NPC dialog while in the Cantina. If I had to choose one over the other, I would favor the Combat Log idea.
- Justification
- It would help the entertainers be more efficient and would not have an impact on any other party.
- Motivation
- To make things easier on the Entertainers to do their task of buffing players and to make the buffing process more time efficient.
Most Entertainers rely on the Chat box and Tells to perform their task of buffing Players.
With the Mos Eisley Cantina being a central gathering place for players as well as the place to get their buffs, not to mention the roaming IMP NPCs with their rather often dialog of how they Disapprove of the Rebels, the chat box can fill up very quickly. On top of that, there are the system messages from the game itself, what ever emotes other players are generating and dialog from AFK players and/or droids advertising something elsewhere in the game. It makes the Entertainers job rather difficult to filter out the buff requests of the players seeking our service.
Plain and simple, there is a lot of unnecessary dialog, messages and chat in this box that I don't need to see. I have been told to set up a different chat window that filters out unwanted text, but there is no way to turn off all I don't need vs. the stuff I do need to see. For example, as a master Entertainer/Musician/Dancer, I do not need to see every time I or someone in my group does a music or dance flourish. When I was grinding xp, it might have been important then...but not really. Also, when I use my holograms, or am in a group with other Entertainers, I get a flourish message, one for everyone in the group. So with my holograms deployed, I get 4 separate notifications. In a full group, I get 8 notifications. I also get timers for everyone listening or watching me, plus NPC dialog, area chat from everyone in and around the Cantina.
Needless to say I do a lot of scrolling to try to figure out what buffs the players want.
