- Proposal
- My proposal is to introduce new missions that are similar to the "Extremely Dangerous" bounty hunter missions. These would behave similarly to how regular terminal missions do currently, spawn a lair, creatures to protect it etc. However the difficulty (and the mission payout) should be greatly increased, adding a new challenge. This would make regular mission terminals more relevant to the game, which are currently only really being used to farm creature resources and for spin groups.
Whether this is added through a new tab on the mission terminal or through a new terminal entirely is open for interpretation. I would also recommend these missions only be available on planets that do not support player housing, this would prevent these tougher enemies being spawned by people and left to cause issues in player cities or to grief crafters near harvesters.
This could also potentially add a new collection related to these missions by having "rare" spawns from these new lairs (silver or gold elites?), again adding more content to make these missions worthwhile for max level players.
- Justification
- The justification for this idea is that currently regular mission terminals are largely a waste of time for players outside of spin groups, this would bring them back into relevance for people who are looking for a new challenge at higher levels and a better payout as their reward for taking it on.
These would need to be balanced carefully to avoid full groups taking these missions and the spawns from the new lairs getting uncontrollable, a spawn limit per lair perhaps?
- Motivation
- The motivation behind this is simply to add a new "end-game" challenge for those who enjoy the "accept a mission" style of playing. This was briefly discussed via the Resto Discord previously and people seemed to like the idea of adding these new missions.
This was openly discussed in the "Senate-Outdoors" channel on Discord so I have decided to post it here for further discussion/to see how people would feel about this addition to the game.
