Proposal
Slings, Scabbards and Holsters:
An item (weapon type specific) that can be added to a weapon and is consumable as in, if removed it is destroyed.

Crafters Tool Bag:
A tool bag requiring master crafting professions for storing a crafters tools.
Justification
Slings, Scabbards and Holsters:
This item could even come in the form of a skill attachment and use a slot. These items in real life are a primitive technology. We don't need the pretty addition of our toons with a sword on our belt or a carbine in a single-point sling, Just the effect of removing "weapon hindrance" when not in combat.

Crafters Tool Bag:
Like most crafters here my backpack is half filled with tools and harvesters. just a 15–20-unit, inventory specific to tools and harvesters, that has a separate inventory and regardless of how many items are in it, it takes 1 inventory slot (can only carry 1) would be a huge help to all crafters. Currently in game there is a craft able "Doctors Bag" (now useless) that did this for Doctors and CMs back when they had to craft their medicines and poisons so it seems the mechanic for this type of item may already be in place.

Both could be some love given to Tailors (they need it)
Motivation
Slings, Scabbards and Holsters:
Weapon Hindrance Sucks! Especially when not in combat. Stacked with armor Hindrance it really.... really sucks.

Crafters Tool Bag:
Crafters need more storage and inventory than any profession to produce our most needed things. A small inventory increase just for crafters seems fair and could be an economic boost for those who craft the item.
1)Add crafted slings, scabbards and holsters to attach to weapons.

2)Add crafters Tool bags

The purpose of weapon hinderance is a balancing measure to ensure that Melee characters are able to catch up to actually attack Ranged characters. Though i do like the concept of using a sling to mitigate the hinderance, it could cause unforseen circumstances that would make ranged just that much more problematic for a melee player.

I get your point about balancing vs melee, but this would be only active when not in combat. Naturally when engaged in combat you shoulder or draw your weapon and at that point your weapon is no longer holstered or slung. As it is my weapon takes up a toolbar slot just to mitigate weapon hindrance when running around in town and as I said it could take the place of a skill enhancement so it wouldn't be a free ability.
