Proposal
Lower requirement for the resource quality bracelet to Novice Artisan profession
Justification
My Bio Engineer has no need for Master Artisan mods, so to get this skill box would be a waste of valuable skill points, especially when Ranger and Bio Engineer are a profession pairing and the number of skill points invested in master ranger is excessive for the reward.
Bio engineers are required to craft a number of items that will benefit from the resource bracelet but are currently not being given fair the option to do so
Motivation
Crafting and sampling begins at Novice artisan so it makes sense to allow all those with a minimum of novice artisan the chance to benefit from this jewellery.
If you make the minimum requirement level CL 1, then it makes sense to have the minimum profession requirement the lowest skill box available.
Lower requirement for the resource quality bracelet to Novice Artisan

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
This makes sense. Current requirement unfairly hurts BE/Med professions (Non-Artisan) trades. I don't think it was intended - but Master Artisan should not be required.

Master Artisan makes sense if forcing most craft professions to decide if they want the box just for the bracelet, even though they might otherwise just get a couple of 4 boxes. It does hurt the non Artisan crafters, but I'm not sure there is a good way around that, and making them take a 15 point novice box isn't it. If you make it Novice Artisan, you may as well just make it a Novice box stat.

I think the thought is that taking a Novice box is better than making them Master Artisan. At least it's something - ideally the requirement would be dropped altogether.

So create a new bracelet that does the exact same thing for medics..seems like a lot more work, and pointless.
I doubt it's a lot of work at all. The POINT would be that not everyone gets to be/have everything. That's a really useful bracelet, but useful enough to spend the SP on mastering the base profession to get it? Choices lead to diversity. I think the Master box is good for it, but for some builds, that's not just a decision about the box it's the whole tree,l. This would give that decision to all crafter types.

Not that I'm particularly sold on the idea. It just seems to drive at the core of SWG better than just making it more broadly available, especially when Doc/BE would still bear the extra burden of getting the novice box that no other crafter does.

I think you're missing the point. I'm by no means advocating for 'everyone gets everything'.

It's a 'Resource Quality Increase'. Every crafting profession uses resources, which means that this bracelet should be equally usable by all professions that use resources for crafting.

For a Master Bio Engineer to use that bracelet as-is, they have to use 198 Skill Points.

For a Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Droid Engineer, Architect, or Chef to use that bracelet, they have to use 140 Skill Points.

58 Points is a significant difference to just say 'Well you need to make a choice - that's how we get diversity'. It's not like every new crafter that shows up is finding these in a Dantooine Spin group. They're not the easiest thing to get - especially not now.

I'm not a Bio-engineer - but I see where Korto is coming from - and it needs to be considered.

The requirement that was added when the CL60(?) requirement was dropped I believe was done without taking other professions into consideration. I would think that providing Bio-Engineers with an equal chance to use the bracelet is not too much to ask.

I think you're missing my point. For a Master Weaponsmith/Tailor/DE/etc to get to Master Artisan for access to the bracelet would use 47 points. For a Master BE to get to Master Medic for access to the hypothetical bracelet would cost 48 additional points. Thus leveling the playing field for access to the Resource Quality buff.

Dropping the CL was obviously a good idea. I believe adding Master Art was a good idea. But you're right, this unfairly or unreasonably excludes BE (and docs, but who uses medical consumables?), so allowing them to get to a bracelet unlock for the same points seems like a better "solution" to me.

You're forgetting about the individuals that already purchased/looted these Bracelets. Add an alternative requirement to them then - but making it just Master Artisan was stupid. It's ridiculous to say 'we know we added a random Profession requirement after a bunch of you have spent time looting or buying these, but good news , we'll create a brand new bracelet which effectively makes the one you already have useless for you.'..when they should just fix the requirement to accommodate all Professions that can use it.

Opinions, we both got 'em

I'm not forgetting anything. I just look at it different than you. *shrug*, there's no right there's just opinions.

What if an OR check was utilized. Master Artisian OR x OR y OR z scenario so non-artisian's could benefit where xyz = something associated to said, other crafters.

That seems like more work for an item than just adjusting it to a non-profession requirement as it was intended before. There are only a handful of items that would benefit for Master Artisan resource quality + like vehicle condition and a few non-chef foods.

It's already an effort and time sink to get these bracelets - so having a pre-requisite that only makes it available for certain builds seems really goofy when it wasn't intended in the first place.
