- Proposal
As the title says - I propose a change so that Rare Loot drops are either spawned as crates near the player/NPC that spawned them, or dropped directly into the player's inventory.
- Justification
Rare Loot drops are, well, rare enough that I believe a player should just... acquire it, when it drops. No chance of losing it to bad corpse desync, or rushed spawn timers - that makes what is already a difficult-to-find potential item lost to the void, AND takes up your potential spawn for that planet.
- Motivation
What made me realize this was an issue is when the first Rare Loot I got on my account at all, was spawned by a corpse while I was in the middle of a fairly large group of enemies. By the time I had left combat, the corpse that had the Rare drop... had despawned. A 0.05% chance, removed because of a restriction in looting.
I'm proposing a change so that Rare Loot cannot be lost due to circumstances preventing looting the corpse (in-combat with auto-loot disabled, corpse desynced to a strange unreachable location, etc.)

Thanks for your suggestion!
We will not implement this because the problem is corpse expiration, not the underlying mechanics. Inventory filling is an intentional blocker to excessive loot and spawning tangible containers into the world presents a lot of edge case logic that can create technical issues.
However, we've doubled the corpse expiration time from 2 minutes to 4 minutes which is consistent with a previous player request we fulfilled to increase the despawn time of beasts with resources for harvesting. This will be effective with the next patch (June Game Update). But again, in most circumstances, the issue is the spawn timers need to be adjusted, which is a bug, not that the loot timing is an issue.
