Okay, so I know this may sound like a radical suggestion, but hear me out... What if, like how bounty hunters are able to get paid to go after other players, that player businessmen(or persons) had a mechanic where they would declare a business competitor a rival, and send player thugs after their enemy's supply chain?

I mean, right now, there is really no way player business people can do anything to affect the business of their rivals?

Ok, so lets say this feature existed in the game. You are an architect, for example, and you have another architect who is doing better than you, and you want to ruin their business in order to increase yours(think about how the huts handle competitors) So for exampe, what if say I could hire a group of players,(with a binding contract) to go and destroy my rivals harvesters in the field. Or, maybe just damage them enough make them shut down, and cost my rival money and/or resources to repair them. You can call it corporate sabetage. It would be anonymous, unless the scruplulous players who did the deed ratted you out for a fee. In which case, then your rival would know who to retaliate on. There would have to be some kind of restrictions on this system so random players cant just go around breaking everyone harvesters for fun. One rule could be that this action is only available to masters of a profession, and can only be used on other masters of the same profession, so that high end players cant jsut pick on early level crafters.

Anyway, what do you think if we could do that?

well first you would have to know where there factories are. So just move your factories to a different location. Secondly you would have to remove allowing others to use factories or the would just use another's. Lastly there is rivalry mechanic its called Price wars.

If this was implemented - and you were a master crafter - you would soon find out why you shouldn't have ever suggested it.

This sounds like one world PvP. Crafters play crafting because they enjoy it more than combat. To put them in a part of combat that only a portion of the combat players seems like a way to ruin the concept of multiple ways to enjoy the galaxy.

Maybe dancers could take a pipe to their rivals knees too.

Crafters do pve combat with the resource spawn rng, don't make them pvp.

You seem to have misread the proposal.. I never said crafters would do pvp... Try reading it again.

You are forcing a type of PVP on the crafter that you want to decalre war on. They are being hit by other players. They are forced to retaliate by either spending their own money attacking you back, or forced to fight off the saboteurs.

That is forcing another player to play YOUR way.

Unacceptable.

No, that is forcing your competitors to come to the bargaining table. It doesnt seem like you understand how business in the world of jabba the hutt and star wars works. Or even in the real world works. Its very cutthroat. You are either a shark, or a fish. But in this game, there is no way for the fish to gang up on the shark. This suggestion provides a means to do that. But im sure that even with good analogies to explain it, you still wont get it.

Have you ever done the Jabba theme park? If you did, I think you would understand better how business works in this game.

Jabba the Hutt was not a crafter. He was not a merchant. He was a crime boss, a Daimyo. He wasn't worried about some merchant undercutting his swoop sales business. My god...

Comparing what you want to see between merchants and normal business people to Jabba the Hutt is beyond ridiculous and just shows people you don't understand how any of this works.

Yes, a crime boss who does business, and takes care of business and his competitors in a ruthless way. His world revolves around profits. I thought this would be clear. Jabba is all of those things.
