None grouped bh - able to attack each other to fight over the same bounty target (pvp bounty’s only)
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
I propose that bounty hunters have the ability (if they choose by not been grouped) to attack each other as well as the mark they currently both seek!
Justification
Adds a twist to the current system and makes the the whole bounty hunter system a greater risk / chance encounter.

You may choose to take down you opponent before switching to the mark. Or you may see the benefit of working as part of a team.

Ultimately I see this system as providing a choice.
Motivation
I feel this type of system would fit perfectly with the ruthlessness of bounty hunting! Let the strongest survive!
Something I have always found strange about bounty hunters is that they can always work with each other but not against each other.

Let me explain: you’ve just tracked down your mark it’s hiding out in the mountains on Naboo.

As you near your marks location you hear gun fire and instantly recognise that bounty hunter scum (insert name) is already here attempting to claim your bounty!!

Currently you only have one choice and that is to assist him!!

But what if instead of assisting him and risking losing the credit for the kill, you could assassinate the bounty hunter (well he is the worst type anyway and has no honour! No one would miss his kind!!) and the go onto claim your bounty alone!

Or alternatively you know your mark is a tough challenge, so instead you play along at first to break them down. When they are about to drop you switch focus onto the other bounty hunter. And kill both and take all the credit!

Hmm... I'm not sure how this fits into the lore that all BHs are part of the same Bounty Hunter's Guild. And, according to the rules of said guild, BHs aren't to engage each other in competition. We're not independents, as if you read some of the bounties we get, one way to get hunted by the BHG is to go rogue. So, if you go BH in this game, that makes all BHs part of the BHG, and subject to its rules of engagement. You can compete with other members for the same bounty inasmuch as your skills getting you to the mark first, but you were not to engage in combat with fellow BHG members, as I read it.

Unless you're suggesting that the devs create a competing Guild (such as the rival bounty hunter's association named in one of the bounty descriptions)?

Tbh lore never really interested me overly, but I will put money on the fact somewhere in the starwars universe that someone will have taken down another bounty hunter regardless of risks if discovered.

Surely having the option to make that choice is what would make this great.

Oh, no doubt it happened once, maybe twice, and they probably got a bounty and lost access to the BHG boards permanently. But this PV sounds like you'd like to make it common practice. That, imho, is lore-breaking. Unless you want to add permanently losing access to the BH boards? :P

It would depend largely if they got seen or reported.

As I said the dead can’t talk, also who’s to say that the bh mark didn’t already vanquish the bounty hunter prior to you arriving to claim it in his weakened state.

Also talking about lore, then why is it that the first bh to attack doesn’t get granted automatic rights for the kill and not just the bh landing the deathblow?

Perhaps it is worth noting this is a video game, there are always things which break the lore at times to make it actually fun. 🤷‍♂️

Unless you're suggesting that BHs be able to solo Jedi? You can't have this be selective...
Yeah I was just be facetious. Hunters should be able to heal/buff each other during the hunt if they're grouped, though. The individual TEFs are a bit inconvenient.
