Outerwear Exotic Socket

Outerwear Exotic Socket
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
Change all outerwear(ie vests) to allow inclusion of a socket that fits a clothing exotic SEA.
Justification
Currently, crafting suits require a breastplate to get 3x exotics on their suit. By allowing outerwear(which occupies the same slot as a breastplate) to take an exotic SEA, armor is no longer required for a non-combat character.
Motivation
To remove the requirement of encumbrances on non-combat characters.
This proposal is primarily a Quality of Life improvement for all Artisans. Melee is included due to how this will affect Innate Armor viability(veeeery slight improvement) and Social is included because someday there may be working stats for Entertainer/Dancer/Musician/Image Designer that would also benefit from this QoL.

Since breastplate versus clothing SEA is just a toggle for the creator, this should not have any foreseeable downsides.

If this were an NGE server this would be a hard no, but we're not.
Would it just be vest, or vest/jacket/cloak/duster?
On some pre-CU (Emu) servers you can wear a Duster over armor. I would like to see that here someday, but it would be an issue if Dusters could have exotics.
What about Jedi robes? Under this, would they get exotics? Do they get sockets?

I too would like clarification regarding what outerwear would be affected by this.
I agree it would be neat to be able to have outwear over armor at some point.
With a change like this being able to have another exotic slot would need to be addressed as well if either of these ideas were to exist.

In the case of this PV, I am using outerwear to encompass something worn over a shirt that forces a breastplate to unequip. Vests were the most obvious example, and if some outerwear can be worn over armor those need to be excluded.

It is really up to the devs to define exactly what could/would qualify for this, but even having like 10 options to wear instead of a breastplate versus 0 would be a great improvement.

Why stop there ? I use a full armour suit with opp chance on all the other pieces I would love to just use clothes. Like a belt instead of psg. Gloves , boots etc.....

Since it says 'primarily' for artisans - This seems like a complete waste of time. All armorsmiths can make low encumbrance armor/breastplates that has zero effect on movement speed.

I get you point here, it's possible already without encumbrance so why waste time on it. Fair

But what about all the opp chance in the rest of it? Not been AS but as I've not seen it the other parts aren't low encumbrance.

I dont want protection I want seas and I can't see 1 per in clothing instead of 3 being a problem.

I would rather never take it off. I've created suit macros to switch them in and out and it's made it better but I completely get this being we don't need armour why can't it be in clothes. Or Some specific clothes maybe not all.

Any piece can be made with low encumbrance. An AS just needs to make it. Lack of protection in armor is what actually makes it low encumbrance.
