Remove Profession Restriction from Ewok Festival of Love Wings

Remove Profession Restriction from Ewok Festival of Love Wings

Proposal
I would like the Ewok Festival of Love Wings to have no profession restrictions.
Justification
I feel that these holiday items should be available to more players. Restricting them to just one profession doesn't feel fair.
Motivation
The Love Festival wings are currently only available to master entertainers. I would love to see wings all across the galaxy on players celebrating this holiday.
I think the profession restriction should be removed from the Ewok Festival of Love Wings.
Currently only master entertainers can wear them but I think anyone should be able to.
I'm aware that part of the community doesn't want them at all in game, but I think people should be allowed to wear whatever they like on their characters. It is simply a cosmetic item after all.

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
I think that the mood of the festival would be enhanced by allowing all players to wear the wings. Halos are allowed by all and I wear mine proudly. I admit that I would not wear it/them all the time, but make exceptions during festival seasons.

I would love to see that change. I guess wearables from events should not have a restriction. The jacket off the haloween event also was free for everyone to use. That could have been a "Master Smugler" item or something like that.

Players can wear what they like and the level of customisation in SWG is a good thing. That said, the wings and probably the halo too are not very Star Warsy and there’s a fine line to keep immersion for those that want it and ultimately allowing the game to morph into the SIMs online.

I think a fair compromise would be to enable them on all professions for the duration of the festival. After which they become Entertainer only once more.

I was hoping someone besides me would post this.

They only make sense during the festival

As a counterpart for this... talking about star warsy experiance and immersion. Let's not limit this to anything...
Is it immersive to see a mandalorian helmet/armor on every corner? How many characters did you see in the star wars universe waring them? There is even a business crafting and selling them... "this is (not) the way!
Have you ever seen any cantina filled with entertainers wearing ouftis of the witches of dathomir? Also not very star warsy.

Don't get me wrong, I get your point I also don't want to see anime furry wookies running around everywere.

Limit the items to players who will not show up on battlefields and break the immersion of an epic battle....
Whats wrong about an entertainer wearing fancy little wings in the Cantina? Nothing?! Noone complained about the item beeing in the game.
Whats wrong about a fancy roleplaing character who is crafting a little over the top fancy clothing, acting wierd? I guess that will fit (Make it Master Tailor [which is NOT my recommondation because it will bit too limited])

My proposal... go for the middle ground.

Many people, including myself, complained when wings were introduced on live

We all have differing levels of what breaks immersion I guess. But if it’s recognisable from canon such as animation or live action then it’s Star Warsy enough to be included in SWG.

For me personally, Angel wings, halos, Christmas jumpers, stomping on presents, anything to do with the Meatlump King and especially flying Ewoks with heart shaped sunglasses should all be stacked in a giant pile in the middle of Theed and set on fire.

I complained about CU on live, I complained about NGE on live... I couldn't change it :D

This PV is not about removing items from the game that some don't like. I guess nether you nor me can do anything about that... Or just raise the PV to remove them... :)
This PV is about accessibility of an item that exists to more players who would like to use it.

And my opinion on that is not to. I do not support this PV

I see the point of people wearing mando / tusken / NS outfits being a little unrealistic at times.. they are however very much star wars.. halos and wings and christmas jumpers , particularly aren't..
I don't mind seeing them on crafters in their house or doctor buffbots or ents in a cantina but I wouldn't like to see them in combat tbh

I do not like seeing this stuff on combat characters, in a weird way it looks "trashy" - for lack of a better term? Or maybe just out of place? It can be a fun thing for ents/traders to wear so I would agree with making it novice ent/novice traders but to allow combat profs is just wrong. I didn't even know that halos were available to combat toons, if anything we should include making them novice ent/novice trader too! haha. Surely anyone in a roleplay tag can't be wearing these as combat toons, right? (Even though I know some of you have made a comment on PVs not being made for removing items you don't like - to me a PV is just that, a Player Voice - wait for a dev to say what you can and cant comment on).
It might be something fun but for some reason it just irks me, my issue I know, but it comes across as more of a JRPG if we see everyone wearing them when fighting. However I do agree master ent is too restrictive for this item. If there's a way for combat toons to wear them during the holidays only, that is as far as id like to see it, anything after is too much. Or maybe limit them to NOT be able to be a cosmetic item? What combat toon would spend their time wearing wings over a backback?

Yeah, I think having them as an actual item which cannot be made equippable as appearance would help ensure they aren't used as appearance in combat, although people that using innate armour might get around that

perhaps the certification of ent or rtisan is enough. it also makes it more unique for them as well.

Skins and Appearances are a big part of gaming.. you see john rambo running around in CoD lmao but it just doesn't really work with Star Wars, I think

I'm resurrecting this thread for a friend who'd like to wear the wings on their non-Entertainer character. As there was never a dev response, I am hoping this is still open for discussion.

Yes, it is true that the wings are not particularly "Star-Warsy and Iconic (TM)", but neither are the heart-shaped glasses, sweaters, PJs (adorable as they are), Moon Festival jackets, halos, etc. None of those have profession restrictions.

Perhaps the restriction to only during the event (as mentioned by Versatti above) would be a good compromise.

Thoughts?
