Rework to the Battlefield System
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
To rework the battlefield system to encourage more player involvement and better quality of life when playing battlefields.
Justification
Currently, battlefields are a part of the game's content that is essentially dead and will most likely remain dead until major changes are made to the system.
Motivation
Battlefields are a fantastic part of PvP when they happen and having a healthy battlefield scene on the server would be great for the PvP community of Restoration.
The proposal for this rework is divided into two sections, simple changes that could be easier to implement, and more complex changes that would take more time and be more difficult to implement.

Simple Changes:
- Unify all 4 of the different types of tokens gained from each battlefield into one single, "Battlefield Token" that can be used to purchase rewards.
- Unify the costs of the battlefield rewards into 1 single token cost using this new battlefield token. For example, a piece of armor from the battlefield vendor would cost 60 Battlefield Tokens as opposed to 15 of each type of token from the 4 battlefields.
- Make the battlefield tokens "No Trade Shared" as opposed to "No Trade"
- Upon leaving a battlefield players would have both their Battle Fatigue and fill cleared to 0%
- Inside battlefields, remove the decay on player buffs upon death
- Add a Kinetic and Energy version of each of the weapons available on the battlefield vendor.
- Replace some of the buildings within the battlefields with buildings that have better line of sight and less buggy walls. Currently, many of the bunkers and buildings in the battlefields have walls that can be completely shot through by ranged.
- Add a weekly battlefield event in game that would reward double tokens to players for participating in certain battlefields from Friday-Sunday. The specific battlefield that would reward double tokens would rotate every week in the order of: Massassi Isle -> Jungle Warfare -> Bunker Assault -> Data Runner. This would encourage players to still play all the different battlefields.

EDIT:
- Add a terminal inside the battlefield at the beginning that when interacted with, would give the players a buff called "Combat Bolster", this buff would provide the player with enough Opportune, Ranged General, Melee General, Defense General, and Endurance to balance out their stats at 350 to all, no matter what their previous stats were. This would provide undergeared players an opportunity to remain competitive within the battlefield while still giving geared players a slight edge with their exotics, health bake ins, and weapons.


Advanced Changes
- Unifaction battlefield alternative. Create a system for there to be 2 battlefield options, battlefields tied to the GCW, and battlefields that are void of faction. These could be called "Skirmishes" or "Training Grounds." They would have players be on leave and allow for no GCW abilities within them. Players could group with players despite their factional status and play against each other at will. This system would reward half of the amount of battlefield tokens that GCW. For example, GCW battlefields would reward 5 Tokens for a win, and 2 Tokens for a loss while the unifaction battlefields would reward 1 Token for a loss and 3 Tokens for a win. The teams for these unifaction battlefields would be Red vs Blue as opposed to Rebel vs Imperial.
- Adding additional rewards to the battlefields reward vendor
- Potentially adding a new battlefield on Kashyyyk or Mustafar with unique objectives and layouts
- At battlefield quests that reward a batch of tokens such as, "Complete Jungle Warfare Battlefields 0/5" etc.

This would be really epic although I don't really see need for less tokens on Red v Blue - some method to discourage farming each other though should be looked at. Perhaps in char sheet it shows your win/loss, or something etc.

Would be really amazing changes though - also making it easier for anyone to have a go and join a BF and less impact on loss

Another (simpler?) quick change is to enable a rebel or imperial to receive a buff which means if they queue for BFs its on the other side. this is how it works in WoW.

I hope you all still agree with and support this player voice. I hope we see the return of battlefields on Restoration as it would be amazing for the server's health and the PvP community.

I like this change. Anecdotally, I feel like a lot of my apprehension towards PvP content stems from feeling perpetually undergeared. I think that this change would also make experimenting with different builds easier and more accessible, which might provide more variety.

This is my goal with battlefields. A better environment and setting to play PvP rather than just throwing new people out to the dogs in world pvp

This is a good edit to this PV.
