Same Account Ent Buffs

Same Account Ent Buffs
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
Entertainers can't buff toons from the same account.
Justification
No need to log in an alt to buff yourself, go find an Ent.
Motivation
Social interaction with social professions for buffs from social professions
Disable Entertainer buffs for toons on the same account. This hurts me too.

Din buffs Ki'ta when I play, but I would rather be reliant on other entertainers than enable myself and others to hurt the entertainer economy by being "pocket buffers" for ourselves.

This will be unpopular opinion... but at this point we need some change to draw life out of the houses, craft halls, and player cities and get it into the cantinas. That life will come to the city needing necessary buffs when they can't use their alt to give themselves free buffs.

This will also limit the amount of the 3rd character slots "wasted" on entertainers.

This is ridiculous. I buff my alt and many other people. I don't see any reason to restrict being able to buff your alt.

Well - there are cantinas in player cities too - so I'm not sure of the intent. What's next - docs can't buff chars on the same account? CM/Docs can't heal their own toon?

This is a proposal that would absolutely make less people have an entertainer. A lot of people make ENTs so they have someone to buff their own chars - and that's a choice they make with one of their character slots. A lot of times these people bring those toons into city cantinas to buff other people too. So when you implement something ridiculous like this - and those individuals lose the primary reason they made an entertainer in the first place - you think they're going to suddenly move them to Mos Eisley or Theed? No - they're going to respec..and we'll have even less entertainers than we do now. That doesn't help anyone except the current entertainers when they are online - which isn't 24/7 - so it ultimately hurts the community in my opinion.

So if I want slices or spices I should make my alt a smuggler and log them in just so I don't have to pay you. Then once I am sliced and spiced log them out and you are left wondering why I always have sliced items and never participate in the social mechanics involved with soliciting a slice?

They already have mechanics in place that a Chronicler cannot receive Silver Chronicler Tokens for quests created by an Alt.

I'm not even sure what your argument is. If you want to make a smuggler to slice your own weapons... who cares?

By your logic - a combat character shouldn't be able to wear armor of their alt is an armorsmith and made it...or a weaponsmith can't make a weapon for their combat alt..get real..it's a bad idea..I'm surprised you can't see that.

That's to prevent people from grinding up a reward quest system by themselves. That is a completely different situation.

Even better, maybe they should disable macros for entertainers so you all can finally wake up one day and realize just how lame the entertainer professions actually are!! Nobody in their right mind actually wants to waste an alt as an entertainer, but the population on R3 is so ridiculously small that they don't have a choice.

The real flaw on R3 is 5x experience. Grinding to master is what drives the economy and with 5x XP, there is no real motivation to buy anything to include buffs from entertainers. When master is easy to achieve, there is no longer a need for other players and the skills they worked so hard to build. Grind Architect in one hour, and I don't need to buy harvesters from anyone else. Discard that profession and grind chef in an hour, and I have everything they can make as well. Discard that one, and.... I think you get the point... The economy is what makes SWG interesting. Devastate it, and the players will get bored and leave. The rate in which harvesters produced resources was originally based on how many were needed by players to play the game long term and work together. Now it is unbalanced.

The real solution to all the problems is to kill the 5x XP. Suddenly, entertainers will matter. Doctors will matter. blah blah blah will matter...

I really do not see an issue if people want to make a buffing alt.

I use cantinas, and always tip the ents. I appreciate player interaction. That said, if someone wants to not planet swap etc to find an ent, I get it.

I am all for more choices and less restrictions (other than things being wildly unbalanced)

Good idea, suddenly you wont find an entertainer anymore since no one is willing in his right mind to spend hours waiting hitting buttons every few seconds just to buff you. TBH you should be more crateful that there is anyone playing entertainer and that you can find them in the cantina as they are and not in a private guilds cantina for guild internal purposes only.
