SWG Restoration has recently completed a comprehensive revision of our terms and policies. This includes changes to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Standards, now published and effective immediately. All accounts active in the last 180 days will receive an email notifying them of these updates. All players must visit the website to accept the revised Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before they can log in to the game.

You should review the terms in detail as your continued access or use of SWG Restoration services constitutes your acceptance of these terms; however, for your convenience, we have highlighted some of the material changes below:
  1. Clarified VPN Position: While we previously addressed this in our Terms of Service, we've added to our Community Standards our prohibition on using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) as we will soon introduce an enforcement mechanism that blocks connections to the game when they originate from a VPN.

The addition reads: "You may not register your account or access our services using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or otherwise mask your true internet identity."

  2. New Rule for Events: To better support community events organized by players, we're making an addition to our Community Standards to allow them to post specific rules for each event (if the event is published as an official community event in Discord and/or on our Events Portal on the website). These rules will be enforced by Community Support upon request from event organizers consistently as if they were rules from SWG Restoration directly, provided that they are reasonable and appropriate in the context of the event.

The addition reads: "You must follow the reasonable and posted rules of any community events you attend, whether the event is organized by other players or SWG Restoration."

  3. Entity: We've updated our terms and policies to reflect our new legal entity under which SWG Restoration operates, An Old Man in the Village, Inc., a Delaware-based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. More information on this to come.

  4. Privacy Additions: We've expanded our Privacy Policy to comply with new regulations and to include the addition of processing biometric information. Note that biometric information processing only applies to users with multiple accounts who our systems or player reports have identified as possibly abusing multiple accounts (e.g., two accounts are actually just played by one person). In a new gold standard for preventing multiple-account abuse, we've partnered with Stripe to complete an automated workflow of physical and biometric Identity Verification for each account holder so we can have confidence a unique individual plays each account. This change will not impact account holders that only have one account or multiple account holders whose behavior does not indicate possible abuse. Rather, it will be used solely to prevail in a ban appeal for multiple account abuse.

If you have any questions, please contact Community Support.

May The Force Be With You,
The SWG Restoration Team
