  • Petranaki Tournament

The Petranaki Tournament is a special week-long event that escapes the nuance of factions and guilds for a more civilized, global blood-sport. Players will sign up using their account and join one of three teams: The Acklay, Reek, or Nexu. During the week, PvP is only possible through team-vs-team engagement for special rewards.

    Third Petranaki Tournament: 2025 April

Today we are announcing the call to arms for the third bi-annual Petranaki Tournament which will run from the draft on April 11 until 23:59 GMT on April 20.

The Petranaki Tournament is a special week-long event that escapes the nuance of factions and guilds for a more civilized, global bloodsport. Players sign up and join different teams and earn rewards for simply going out there and dying. We asked the community how many teams they wanted, and the what we heard back was 3, so welcome back teams Acklay, Nexu, and Reek!

During the Tournament, the only PvP-based activity available will be through the Tournament. GCW and PvP mechanisms, including Watchtowers, Base Busting, Special Forces PvP, Player Bounty Hunting, GCW Rank Decay, Dueling, and other TEF-mechanics will be disabled.

At the conclusion of the tournament there will be a new GCW season along with some mechanical updates, where all planets will reset their control and officer ranks get stripped. More info on that can be found in our Discord announcement.

If you sign up to participate, all characters on your account whose combat level is >= 54 will be drafted into the tournament and will be PvP flagged against the opposing teams at all times. The only exception is a two-minute timer after cloning, which will exempt both you and any enemies from attacking each other.

There is no Winner in the Petranaki Tournament; it is a celebration of bloodshed. It is a week in which glorious death will be awarded.

    Mechanics:

The following mechanics will be in place for ALL players during the duration of the tournament, regardless of event participation
    1. All player deaths will be celebrated in a Discord channel.
    2. Each time any player dies (PvP or PvE), they will receive 1 Battlefield Token.
    3. A Jedi that becomes ghosted will receive the max daily tokens available.
    4. This reward is capped to 25 tokens every day for tournament participants
    5. Anyone dying outside of the tournament can also donate their blood for up to 5 tokens per day.

    Rewards:

These additional rewards will be given for tournament participation:
    1. A wearable pin with your team emblem.
    2. A new badge will be awarded on each character that reaches 25 deaths.
    3. For Jedi, they may also receive the badge for being ghosted 3 times.
    4. Each time an opposing team player dies, all opposing team participants in the area will receive 1 Battlefield token (subject to the same cap above)
In addition, all event participants with characters that actively participate will receive rewards if the requisite number of deaths is reached across all players in the event, regardless of their team:
    1. 500 deaths - Double Tokens for 5 heroics AND 5 Battlefields
    2. 1000 deaths - Double Tokens for 10 heroics AND 10 Battlefields
    3. 2000 deaths - Double Tokens for 15 heroics AND 15 Battlefields
    4. 5000 deaths - Double Tokens for 30 heroics AND 30 Battlefields
Once the threshold is reached, all of the team emblem pins will gain "charges" which will be consumed whenever you complete a heroic or battlefield on the character wearing the pin, granting you bonus tokens. The above numbers represent total charges, they are not cumulative.

    Teams:

If you are interested in being a team captain, please reach out to Elfi on discord and indicate it on your signup.

On April 11, a virtual draft event will take place (not in-game), more details on this to be announced soon. After all drafting has taken place, a pre-battle period will begin where teams will be automatically assigned, and players will gain access to an in-game and Discord channel for their team, to allow for initial coordination. Any players who sign up after the draft will be assigned randomly.

The Tournament will begin in the following hours after the draft is concluded and last for nine days until 23:59 GMT on April 20.
    • Characters that are below CL54 will not be automatically flagged for PvP even if the player signed up for the event. However:
      • If your alternate character below CL54 is spotted in the open by opposing team players, they may use Report a Jedi to indicate you as an enemy scout.
      • If you receive enough reports, you will be flagged for PvP.
      • The above only applies for players who consent to PvP in the event.
    • Player bounty missions will not be able to be accepted or completed (NPC bounties will function as expected).
    • If you sign up for the tournament and do not participate, you will not receive any rewards
    • Captains are welcome to create their own Discord servers; however, a channel will be made in the main Discord for your team.
    • Watchtowers will be disabled and ranks will not decay during the event.
    • Late sign-ups (post-draft), if accepted, will be assigned to a team by staff.
    • Excessive kill trading will make you ineligible for rewards.
    • Abusing the Report a Jedi function to flag non-combatants who are merely going about their business will make you ineligible for rewards and may result in action against the account.

    Sign up & Teams:

Sign up using the form until November 15.

If you are interested in being a team captain, be sure to check the Captain Interest box when submitting the form on or before Sunday, November 10. Team captains will be selected at this time, in coordination with the staff.

On November 16, at 3 PM EST, an in-game draft event will take place at Nym's Palace. Team Captains will roll a dice, with the ascending order determining who will make their first pick in what order, and thereafter selections will be made using Snake Draft ordering. After all drafting has taken place, a pre-battle period will begin where teams will be automatically assigned, and players will gain access to an in-game and Discord channel for their team, to allow for initial coordination. Any players who sign up after the draft will be assigned randomly.

The Tournament will begin at approximately 12 PM EST on Sunday, November 17 and last for seven days until 11:59 PM EST on November 23.

During this period, all player deaths will be recorded in Discord and awarded tokens (tournament participation or not).
    • There will be NO staff buffs or special summons in the tournament.
    • If you sign up for the tournament and do not participate, you will not receive the overall token payout.
    • Abusing the Report a Jedi function to flag noncombatants who are merely going about their business will make you ineligible for rewards and may result in action against the account.

    First Petranaki Tournament: 2024 April

    How it Works:

    • Sign up using this form between now and May 10.
      • If you are interested in being a team captain, be sure to check the Captain Interest box when submitting the form on or before May 3.
    • On May 9, at 8 PM EST, an in-game draft event will take place.
    • The Tournament will begin at 6 PM EST on May 12 and last for seven days until 6 PM EST on May 18. Kills will be broadcast to Discord.
    • During the Tournament, other factional and PvP mechanisms, including City Invasions, Base Busting, Special Forces PvP, Bounty Hunting, GCW Rank Decay, and other TEF-mechanics will be disabled. The only PvP-based activity available will be through the Tournament.
    • All characters on your account whose combat level is >= 54 will be drafted into the war and will be flagged against the opposing two teams at all times. The only exceptions are: (1) a five-minute timer after cloning will exempt both you and any enemies from attacking each other, and (2) cantina structures in NPC cities and Jedi Safe Havens will continue to be truce zones where attacking one another is not possible. Nowhere else is safe.

    Rewards:

There is no Winner in the Petranaki Tournament; it is a celebration of bloodshed. There are, however, prizes for certain feats:
    • A badge will be awarded to each Team Captain.
    • A badge will be awarded for defeating every enemy player on both enemy teams at least once (by account, not by character).
    • A badge will be awarded for being the 1st draft pick of each team.
    • A badge will be awarded for reaching 100 and 500 kills during the tournament. 500 kills during the tournament is the only way to win a title.
    • A badge will be awarded, and you will qualify as having completed the event, if you get at least 100 kills, with at least 50 being from one enemy team and 50 being from the other. If you qualify as having completed the event, you will also receive a cash prize of 1M credits.
