Disable Station Repairs in Combat

Disable Station Repairs in Combat

Proposal
Disable getting repairs from the space stations during and for 5 minutes 30 seconds after engaging in PVP combat in space.
Justification
Being able to fully repair your ship mid-combat is detrimental to space combat and allows players to grief other players in PVP.
Motivation
To protect the integrity of space PVP
I propose disabling repairs from space stations during and for 5 minutes *edited to 30 seconds* after engaging in PVP in space. This is currently being abused by allowing players to fully repair their ship mid-combat. This prevents a large number of PVP kills that should count towards GCW and for claiming bounties. It is also illogical to get your ship fully repaired I'm the middle of combat.

"So someone in a small, fast ship would be able to just jet to the station mid fight" Oh....you mean parts CAN matter in pvp? You guys always say they dont lol. If they got away from you thats on you, they could just as easily hyper away as well in that time....oh wait, you wanted to remove that too? Starting to see a pattern here?
The pattern is that I want fights to be fair.

And it's more about chassis than parts.

Hardly. A 3gun in a well made e8 or e0 isnt gonng be outrun by an interceptor in an e6. Again, if they got away from you its on you. I DO agree that they shouldnt be able to repair mid fight. But if theyve put enough distance on you for combat to drop....thats your problem.

Okay but what about my RGI with an e9 or e0 in it? Is it fair for the heavy X that I can just straight line to the station for instant repairs?

You built it that way, sacrificing in other places. It was a choice to give you a speed advantage (and even then not a huge one over another e9 or e10). You did it specifically for that advantage, even if the intention wasnt to go run an heal, so...yes. Again, parts matters a bit more huh?

Loadout matters, yes. 122 vs 125 TS? Not as much.

Again, this PV is just as much against my own self interest as it is for. Your strawmanning only further exemplifies how your counter argument is being made in bad faith.

If this PV is not the answer, that's okay. But something has to be done. I'm more than happy to discuss better ideas to address the issue, but pretending it isn't an issue is intellectually dishonest.

The problem that you aren't understanding is how the came recognizes being "in combat". If you evade enough shots or just booster away you can drop combat. So someone in a small, fast ship would be able to just jet to the station mid fight, get full repairs, and re-engage. That would actually benefit me more since I fly RGI and JSF.

Attacking my character and accusing me of acting purely in self interest is simply dishonest and a bad-faith counter argument.
Yet you do the same thing yourself.. This PV has not been made in good faith at all. This is the first time in all my years on live other servers and here that I have seen anyone complain about this. I meanits ok when you or your boys do this or land because they are getting owned but as soon as its been used against you your complaining. Yet you refuse to discuss ways to balance out the JSF. You turned round and said that I was only putting up that PV about balancing the JSFin reaction to your "boys" using it, something that for years and years has been an issue This PV is a knee jerk reaction to your boys losing a fight and something that no one has ever really complained about until now.

I never once said it isnt the answer, nor did I say people should be able to repair IN COMBAT. What I am saying is making it run anything past combat is in bad faith. For every reason listed. You trying to argue parts differences is laughable considering anyone tryin to run to the station isnt on equal ground with you to begin with. And if they are, then again...its on you for letting them away from you.

They will out run most ints using an e6 as mosh heavy x's will be using an overhauled Nova with 122 ts..

Thats my point bud. Same players that try to tell pilots parts dont matter in pvp as much as skill are crying that parts can allow them to run away. Why I keep saying if they get away from you long enough to run to the station its entirely on you.

1. I typically avoid mid-combat repairs
2. I haven't PVPed on space in over a week, so I'm not sure how this is me in a knee-jerk reaction
3. I discussed how to balance the JSF and we even agreed that increasing the hitbox is the way to go.
4. Comparing this server to others is illogical because this server has made changes that others haven't, and vice-versa

Never said parts don't matter, just that they are only like 10-20% of what makes a good pilot. Again, it's more about the ship itself than the parts in it.

Then why you crying about people getting away from you to get to the station? Thats also more about your skill that any actual issue.

As i stated the OP and his guildmates have all done the exact same thing the OP is complaining about. This PV is very hypocritical.

As you stated if someone can survive long enough to get to the station and Repair thats fair enough. Its something that anyone can do. If you cant kill someone fast enough then thats on the pilot.

No one is crying about that, I actually used that as an example that benefits me more than others.

It's very obvious you're not here for a productive conversation

What about circling the station and repairing repeatedly?

You havent put forth a productive idea. Your very first shot eliminates the ability for a player that destroyed an opponent to place the fight back on even terms again. Something you and yours have tried to put forth on many occasions.

It doesn't eliminate anything(besides spamming repairs in combat), it just would require people to use a modicum of forethought.

You mean like not letting them run? Your right, exactly why eliminating repairs past anything BUT combat is in bad faith.

Define in combat for space
Space combat will not drop unless a predefined distance has been met, or a predefined time has elapsed before youve been hit. IF you have allowed either of those 2 conditions to be met its a pilot issue, not a mechanic issue. And frankly, if they have time to be spamming station heals...as in repopping the com and going through the dialogue, your doing something wrong to begin with.
