- Proposal
Proposal: Combatant players now view Special Forces players as "attackable" (YELLOW) and may choose to flag up by attacking any PvP status player. THIS FEATURE CAN BE TURNED OFF WITH /PvPDeny but is ON by default.
- Justification
Some players don't know how to even PvP in this game and requiring players to manually flag up wastes precious time. Allowing players to make instant choices in-game is what results to more fun in SWG , and when you ask for players to use a command it breaks the immersion of making that choice to attack.
- Motivation
SWG rarely sees any upgrades to the PvP system itself, and in 2021 forcing a player to use /PvP command to PvP is ancient and uninviting.
The following proposal would allow a combatant player to make the choice to attack a special forces player to flag up by attacking, instead of using the /pvp command.

They may be SF by the time youre able to attack, but a 3 man team of a rifleman, SL, and someone with a knockdown could almost insta-incap any SF player by timing the KD with Called Shot and Sniper Shot.
This 100%. A perfect timed combo and enter the fight and eliminate 1 enemy with no resistance. This post has a faint smell of a melee player who's has been bullied too much by ranged immobilize, knockdown, slow and all other manners of CC and just wants to get in a good opener before having to fight to close the gap. At current point you have 2 options. Flag outside the current combat zone and run in hot. They see you and instantly begin counter attack. Or option b you run in and flag and both parties have time to prepare. Insta flagging on an sf offers no benefit other than to the attacker. It just seems unfair.

unfair for the defender ? in what way ? should someone standing on the top of a hill always know who is coming for them in such a game that has mass players ?
foresight in mind you will eventually be locked to special forces with "officer" abilities and no combatants will want to play with you.
tbh if you are really scared of combatants, there are plenty of SF bases you can run to.

Then choose option 1 and SF before charging the hill. Why should you be given the opportunity to close the gap AND take a free shot. Or stand on top of the hill and SF close in. Your requesting they just stand there as you charge in and shoot them in the face with no options to defend or prepare.

just like a bounty hunter can. what you currently like is to own your arena by putting fear of presence ? there are plenty of hiding spots for you if you don't want to be "factionally present"

Again, this is a tool to offer the benefit to the attacker. You could also sf "cover" and crawl in with a group of riflemen for the same effect. Bounty hunter at least makes sense. You don't know your being hunted and not every single person has the option to just come pop you. Combat zones sf you when you enter them anyways without options. I'm all for progress but you haven't named a logical benefit to offering this to everyone rather than just the people who want to attack someone who's flagged. It's unbalanced.

the goal is to bring the PvP to you. Assuming you are so "special" that entire groups come for you , implies you should be special enough to have a group to play with, seeing as this server begs for more pvp.

The server begs for more PvP that's already implemented in the code but not active on R3 yet. Like bunker busting. GCW etc etc. If your "special" in a fair environment that's one thing. You havnt mentioned the benefit yet. Just that if you can box you should be able to handle whatever I throw in your face because you think your so good.

the benefit is that PvP is now available instantly for players that normally may not pvp or know how to. it's stated in the OP

bunker busting ? if you mean base busting, thats been enabled in swg forever dude.
Given the unpopularity of this suggestion, we are going to go ahead and close it.
