Starship Fuel System

Proposal
A fuel system for starships: have a fuel/power source that is crafted by shipwrights and loaded in a starport.
Justification
Being able to farm 500,000-1,000,000 credits an hour without using any resources is a contradiction to the economic system of interdependence.
Motivation
Farming mobs, especially in Ord Mantell space, is a very easy way to make credits and is often debated as having a negative impact on the economy. Being able to farm 500,000-1,000,000 credits an hour without using any resources is a contradiction to the economic system of interdependence. Having to land and refill would stop AFK farming and give some more interdependency between pilots and shipwrights.
Starships should require fuel that can be crafted by shipwrights and is used overtime while in space. It should be loaded in the starport so when you run low you have to land, load it up, and relaunch. It would nice if it had the same mechanic as ordinance and countermeasures, where you load it to your reactor or engine.

Couldnt you just .... reduce the income from space? Seems way way WAY too easy to make money.
I say, LIMITING the sales to the Chassis dealer would make more sense. It kills the farmers, but not the ones who just happen to have a hold full of crap.

Figure 100 parts per day maximum would stop the farming. Assuming all level 10 parts, that's a maximum of 1M per day farming parts.

It's true we don't want to punish pilots for being pilots. But we do need to see sinks that link to the income stream. You don't get income just from launching.

RE is not the source of the credits either, it's where the big space transactions happen, but that's player to player transfers. And those high value transactions happen because the market moves to whatever people can afford, with no relevance to costs.
The Chassis dealer is the reason folks make a crapload in space. Limit him, and the problem dissipates.

This isnt bad idea. I dont like it. But not a bad idea.

I mean It makes more sense to go for the problem rather than nerfing all of space looting... or making up systems to rip credits out which will pretty much just encourage more people to farm.

Honestly? That whole "you can make 500,000 - 1,000,000 credits an hour in space" sounds like a REALLY bad joke to new pilots who are lucky to come home with a 1K chip in their inventory, and dump all their loot on the chassis vendor because they can't use ANYTHING.
If you really insist on trying to shoehorn a "fuel" system into spacecraft, remember that there is already a consumable energy mechanic in game. The bazaar has whole resource categories for solid/liquid/gas "energy".

I'll just point out that as obvious as that may appear, it is not a credit sink. All that does is move the credits from pilots to artisans.

I've been harping on inflation for over a year now, and I'll keep doing so it seems. You either need to reduce the amount of credits being magically generated for the player community, or offset them with something that totally removes them from circulation.

The point is that the credits that are generated far outweigh the 1 credit sink in space.

I added that SW should make it at the insistence of the former space senator, but I do like it being purchased from the game better tbh
