Proposal
Players who choose to report jedi and groups involved on both sides are now tef'd against each other.
Justification
this solves jedi's being griefed by players strictly running around creating groups to report jedi while also encouraging pvp and gameplay.
Motivation
my group and me being reported and followed for over a hour while we were locked to mustafar unable to leave.
lately players have been spamming known grind areas for jedi strictly to report them, the last 2 days groups have been forming just for searching planets for jedi. NPC's give a warning when your generating vis and you have 1 minute to kill them or they generate the vis. realistically a jedi cannot hide from groups forever and will be spotted which is fine i have no issues with being BH'd or the Inq or Vader etc. but to have a group of players follow you reporting without any way of getting rid of them besides logging off is a bit of a issue in my opinion, we are already limited by deaths and vis locking us to planets etc. im asking that jedi get the chance similar to npcs if they are willing to spam report a jedi or group of jedi allow the jedi to fight them over it. if a player wants to follow a jedi around and keep reporting them give the jedi the opportunity to fight them for it creating a tef between the reported or reported group with the reporter/reporter group would stop griefers from running in and reporting any jedi they see every 5 minutes until the jedi is forced to log off unable to leave the planet. it would also create plenty of pvp for the players who felt up to the challenge encouraging pvp. FRS has already been stated as "you can be attacked by anyone whose willing to tef against you" so this would be no different it gives jedi the option of defending themselves against people who knowingly choose to report them.

lol so it took 1 report to lock me to the planet which to be fair i was grouped with quite a few jedi
This is literally part of what the system is designed to discourage: large gangs of glowsticks. Also my reason for downvoting is its workind as intended, if that wasn't clear from my first post.

People are already max template and spins will slowly fall off anyway. You're frustrated now , sure , but it won't be for long.

End of the day, if you're grouping with Jedi and other people / passers by are scouting and want to report, let them. You don't have to log off, you can go grind somewhere else. Is it inconvinient ? Yes,, but just do that.

Jedi is a PvP class. Player vs. Player. That doesn't always mean combat.. It includes spatial bm, and gate keeping mehanisms.
Also btw as convinient as Mustafar is, it's also the worst planet to grind on as there is literally one way off.

I think ya'll need to go watch the first episode of Kenobi and see how that Jedi reacts to people seeing him and talking about him.

I think we’d be more inclined to remove the “you didn’t see X do anything that looks like they are a Jedi” blocker to making a report and instead add systematic consequences for false reports, wherein if you waste the time of the Empire in investigating claims where the Jedi’s vis is too low (or other means Jedi have to hide from investigation such as their FS skills) the reporter get punished with fines/bounties/reporting timeouts etc. for wasting the Empire’s time. That seems more lore appropriate and aligned to our design.

If the server population was a lot larger, I would say this could be a good idea, in implemented correctly. However, the population being what it is, and visibility is possible by not only players, but NPCs, I don't think this is a sound plan. Jedis are supposed to be hidden away, giving someone a TEF and making them attackable for reporting isn't such a hot idea.

Apart from your specific complaint, often times in PVP when Jedi show up and roll you and/or destroy your bases or whatever you've built at an invasion there's very little a small group of non-jedi players can do about it besides report them. Punishing players for reporting jedi would make that even worse for non-jedi players. Sorry you had a bad time grinding but I don't think nerfing the report ability for non-jedi is the answer.

I'm semi on the fence with this. I do think it'd be cool if you could kill players that report you but at the same time, if that's the case, players who see you doing jedi things should also get the option to attack and kill you.

You choose to play that class knowing the risks. The fact that only certain people have been unlocking means you may be one of those. This profession is not a give me god mode. It is intended to be dangerous for a jedi in the time frame you are in. The Empire hunted and killed any Jedi they could find. Vader being one of the main hunters so suck it up is all I can say. I am not trying to be rude but I was playing this game from original beta, was a ore-cu unlonck, and understood the risks. At least you aren't facing the perma death.
