Proposal
Move the Lightsaber Assembly and Experimentation bonus you get from Master Lightsaber to Novice Lightsaber and the Jedi Padawan Box.

Justification
_
I think it should only require xxx4 to craft the best sabers, leaving Master unique by focusing on it's combat aspects. It's a silly requirement, and punished people who make interesting builds more. As much as others tell me otherwise, I saw a friend craft their saber at Master and I had only xxx4; and *yeah*. Pretty significant.

I'm certainly not going to bother crafting one (especially OR/Gen5s) without Master in it's current state, but it's lame to have to grind it every time. It is just a waste of time, and MLS is pretty meta anyways.

Motivation

I like suggesting things to improve the game's quality and I think this was a call-back from Pre-CU.
Hope this is a good suggestion.

Master boxes should be strong with perks that are desirable , not weak as you suggest just to benefit you, it be nice for a change that you actually put some thought on these spaghetti at the walk approach to PV's that you make because that is literally all you been doing , throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks

That also isn't strength; it's simply quality of life. I agree with you too, that is why I said: It should be about it's strength. If you think MLS is weak; feel free to make your own thread.

It isn't strength; because I can have it, drop it, than benefit from it.

Also it's pretty meta, as I said. There is no thought it in.

Also: I don't care, maybe if I didn't care about the game I wouldn't make PVs, but I obviously "do". Downvote me if you want, but you didn't even address it or any of my concerns.

Wasting my time = less models = less content being made. This is the same for everyone else i'd imagine. Quality of Life fixes are good for a game, not bad.

YOU want to be able to craft sabers as good as someone who is Master Lightsaber , but you don't want to put the time/effort to obtain the master box , sounds like you are just lazy and want to be given everything , IF you want to craft the best sabers go MLS , if you don't want MLS because you want to dabble into some other build xxx4 is good enough

I see both sides of this coin. Yeah it kinda sucks you have to grind MLS to make the best sabers and at least xxx3 and use pups to get a socket even if you're a powers player. But at the same time it makes sense master sabers has stronger saber crafts. Maybe add the assembly to padiwan to get your socket and leave the experimentation alone so you key more damage / speed / cost reduction for being a MLS.

I like this idea, it solves both issues

Getting *Jedi* itself was the Time+Effort. This is annoying. You play Jedi right?

Not really, solving the issue would be letting MLS keep their crafting stats. Do you really think i'd miss the extra 3-4 experimentation points?

The assembly sucks too tho yeah.

I don't mind grinding master sabers and dropping it if I can keep the experimentation/such. I just don't wanna do it again+again+again.

Anyone who says: "OH YOU WOULD FORGO-" I don't care. If I can do it once and get Master Box and drop it I will be happy to do that.

Mls maybe stronger in crafting but that's it and when you craft and drop it's benefit has been used.

It is annoying thinking ill have to respect for mls when gen5 are available but meh, what else I gotta do?

I'll be honest I like it as its just a time save but also don't really care.

craft yourself plenty of sabers while master , you sure as heck aint the first player to do it , plenty of players did that when the jedi patch dropped , you just want the easy way , and yes ive been a jedi since the weekend the jedi patch was released

This is annoying. I have shit I have to do outside game.

If there was a "respec" npc I wouldn't care.

I agree, but at the same time it will reduce the value of Master Box, so I'm kinda split. I do hate the idea of grinding it every time to get a better saber though.

What if it was all put into xxx4 Tree?

What if there was a buff that lasted for a certain period of time after dropping MLS that lets you make HQ sabers. So with time you lose the knowledge on how to do it and have to learn it again? I would suggest making it a month in duration.
This one is odd in a way, I know, because you will still have to regrind it later. (let me know if this is a bad idea)

That seems silly. That isn't even how real life works. I can put down modeling for years and come back and i'll be just as good. I actually quit modding for 8 years, came back and was the same.

I get game mechanics, but I don't think MLS will be harmed very much if its moved, its pretty meta.

Lock different tier Lightsabers to skillboxes then.

All experimentation and assembly to xxx4 then.
1st Gen Lightsaber to Padawan.
2nd Gen Lightsaber in Novice Lightsaber
3rd Gen Lightsaber to any 222x Box
4th Gen Lightsaber to any 444x Box
5th Gen or OR Hilt To MLS

Judging by the original write-up on this PV, removing the benefits of being a Master and moving it "down" the tree only denigrates the appeal of Master.

To be the best, you have the BE THE BEST. To get a Master quality saber, you should have to be a MASTER to craft it. I believe it is that simple of an issue.

No it doesn't, MLS is literally one of the most played things.

What the appeal is is the super attack Saber Dervish which melts people.

Maybe if we got some gloves or an item that I could use that gave the buff i'd be fine. I don't care and am almost MLS anyways now. I dropped Master Powers.

I'm not against doing the work.

I'm against wasting my time by having to repeatedly do tons of work just to craft powerful sabers. I think keeping at least the knowledge to craft is fine.

I got it, now dropping it. I think its very powerful though.

You don’t need master box for assembly, sockets start at like 60(ish?) assembly and you can get almost 100 from pups alone. Unnecessary change.
