Proposal
Proposed Changes to Neutrals:
1. Extend flagging down timers from special forces to 5 minutes to align with other factions.
2. Have neutrals show on the war pad when flagged for special forces.
3. Require going to the appropriate recruiter to step down from combatant state to the civilian state.
4. Have neutrals names flash when flagging up and down just like other factions. (If this is a bug then this is just proposing to fix this bug. )
Justification
Align neutrals to match faction standards for staging up and down from Combatant/Special Forces states so all factions are equal or lack of a faction doesn't gives added benefits when flagging for the GCW.
Motivation
Aiming to create a fair and balanced game experiences for all.
This player voice aims to align the standards for staging up and down for participation for the GCW.

Seems only fair that if a Neutral player decides to flag Imperial SF, for instance, they should register on the war pad as an Imperial SF player, because for all intents and purposes, at that moment, they are an Imperial player. They should have the same requirements the Imperials and Rebels have for flagging down, i.e. a 5 minute flag down timer, having to go to a recruiter type NPC to go back to civilian status (Call it a Mercenary Coordinator) and their name should blink during flag up and flag down. To do anything else gives the Neutral faction an unfair advantage over the other two.

If they are so good at PVP and think others are afraid of them, then these changes should not make a difference, it only takes away their already unfair advantage. Let's level the playing field.

So what I'm reading from everyone is that in yalls fair and unbiased opinion Faction helper should be changed to have only certain mechanics of joining a faction. Any proposed changes should stop short of providing any benefit to neutral players. Remember that in previous player voices requesting changes as minor as a pvp kill counter was considered a factional perk only by certain people sharing your opinion. Judging by liked posts in this thread, this bias is also shared by our GCW senator.

Assuming any changes are made (doubt). I think there's a fair compromise in here somewhere. But in reality I'm looking forward to 2.0. Keep in mind that neutrals won't exist the same way once officer ranks are reimplemented so this complaint already has an expiration date.

Hello. I am not familiar with the previous player voices you mentioned, could you link to these?

What benefit does this enhancement remove from your experience as a neutral using Faction Helper? Please specify what you are losing in the proposed changes?

Treating neutrals and faction helper as a faction (which is what is being requested), when its clearly not a faction (yet), is a pretty radical change. Very strange that a player voice was made to bring the neutral pvp kill counter in line and all it got was crickets and downvotes.

This all seems a little astroturfed by a vocal minority of the playerbase, most of whom i've never seen pvping.

This all seems very practical and reasonable.

The missing flag down/flag up functionality and missing war pad functionality just seems like an oversight more than anything else.

Right - if you flag up you should be hunted same as anyone else. Everyone keeps saying they want more pvp. Flag up/down timers increase chances of pvp.

Additionally, it would actually provide support for another recent Player Voice that wants faction helper GCW kills listed in the character sheet. If everyone's flagging system is the same for GCW PvP, it would make more sense to track them the same.

Sounds like some reasonable changes you suggested.
I am not surprised that the two "no cap"(s) are instantly trying to derail the thread / drown out the idea behind PlayerVoice.

It's in the current top 5 on the lists of player voices.

I also never made a claim in regard to gain or loss towards the proposed changes. In fact, I expressed openness to accepting changes personally. I just wanted to point out that I find it odd that a certain faction is upset because something isn't working to their benefit but is completely unwilling to accept a basic, minor change that would affect nothing (kill count) because the other side asked for it. I also noted that GCW changes are on the timeline and that developer resources may not be allocated to change a mechanic that is functioning as SOE intended prior to that overhaul.

If the flagging mechanics were identical, I would support tracking kills the same.

Neutral players going SF have no benefits, other than being able to fight and die to other SF players.

Kills aren't tracked.
No Faction points are rewarded.
We don't get faction vendors, perks, or titles.

Letting Neutral flag down faster seems like a fair trade for having absolutely NO benefit to fighting on either side.

I prefer we encourage actually joining Reb/Imp faction if one wants to participate in the GCW.

It's not like the GCW is some tacked on battlegrounds queue system. It's a core pillar of the game's entire design.

As a players who plays two characters, that would neither be a part of either faction, I enjoy the freedom of being able to SF with my friends when it makes sense to do so..

Did a bunch of neutral SF steamroll some factional PvP'ers and flag down before reinforcements arrived?
